Guided Trail Rides

Come ride more than 10 miles of wooded trails at Dead Broke Farm – a 91-acre farm conveniently located in Raleigh, NC. Our bridle trails have rolling hills, creek crossings, lots of beautiful hardwood trees, and wildlife.  Deer, cranes, and turkeys are often spotted on our trails. Our trails are suitable for beginners but challenging enough to be interesting for more experienced riders.

Located near I-40, I-540, Hwy 70, and Hwy 98 within 30 minutes from downtown Raleigh , Durham , Cary , Apex, Garner, Clayton, and Wake Forest.

Children must be 6 years old or older to ride on their own. However, we do allow younger children who are 2 years old or older to go on our trail rides, but they are assisted by our experienced guides. The cost is the same regardless of age since everyone is provided with a horse.

Trail Riding Schedule

We are open year round for horseback riding, 7 days a week, including all holidays except Christmas Day.

Choose the 2-hour trail ride in March and every rider in your group gets a free DBF t-shirt!

1-Hour Trail Riding Schedule ($50/person)

2-Hour Trail Riding Schedule ($75/person)

Rates:

$50/person for a 1-hour ride

$25/person per hour for additional hours after the first hour

Group Discounts :

$5/person discount if you have 5 or more riders in your group

$10/person discount if you have 10 or more riders in your group

Frequent Rider Program:

Buy a package of 5 rides and get the 6th one free. Sharing of packages isn't permitted. There's no expiration date on the vouchers, and you can schedule them as you go at your convenience provided it's during our posted ride times.

Private Rides:

$25 extra per rider for any length of ride but not to exceed $50 per group. Basically, this covers the cost of the additional guide

Pony Rides (horses are hand-led for children ages 2 and up)

$20 for a 15-minute ride

$30 for a 30-minute ride

Offered at 10:30am, 11:30am, 12:30pm, 1:30pm, 2:30pm, and 3:30pm

In order to help keep our prices down, we request that you PAY IN CASH. However, we will accept Mastercard and Visa payments if it is more convenient for you.

Off-Site Locations for All Day Rides

Feel free to bring bottled water and/or cameras with you. We recommend you wear long pants and closed toed shoes. Shorts are okay, if you don't mind possible chafing from the saddle.

Please note that, depending on the number of riders, it may take 15 to 45 minutes for us to give a brief riding demonstration, get everyone up on their horses, and adjust their stirrups before the start of each ride. However, there's no need to arrive in advance of your scheduled ride time. We simply want to make you aware that it takes time for us to get everyone ready to ride, so you'll be at our farm a little longer than the 1 or 2 hours that you are scheduled to ride. In any case, your ride doesn't officially begin until everyone is mounted and the horses leave the barn headed for the trail head.

Reservations and a $40 deposit are required to ensure availability.
