"I 'm a 59 year old horse freak who grew up on and cared for my own and other peoples' horses most of my life. I quit riding about 20 years ago, when I no longer had a horse. I avoid commercial stables because they are overwhelmingly stocked with soured and often dangerous animals, made that way by mistreatment. Because I was constantly at odds with stable owners to improve the care of their horses, I eventually gave up riding . As a result, my horse crazy grand daughter was left with limited riding opportunities I recently heard about Dead Broke Farms and the rescue work they do and figured that they would take good care of their animals. We gave them a try and my guess proved true. The excellent condition and friendly nature of their horses is a tribute to Carla's and all of the D.B.F. folks' dedication and hard work. I asked for 2 very gentle horses and we were well matched. The staff was super helpful and cheerful. The pre- mounting briefing was thorough and included details specific to handling their horses (no matter what your level of experience may be.) We had an incredible ride on scenic trails that were challenging enough to keep me busy yet also good for beginners. I was pleasantly surprised when the ride included water and rest breaks for the horses. After our trail ride, we got our fill of visiting and petting the horses and the many other furry and feathered critters. Thanks, Carla and crew for such a perfect day!"
